If you were lucky enough to snag (and keep) an unlimited data plan on your original iPad, we’ve got good news for you. AT&T will be allowing customers who currently have an unlimited data plan on their iPad to keep the plan if they upgrade to an iPad 2.
AT&T stopped offering unlimited data plans for the original iPad shortly after its release. Those customer who were already using the unlimited plan were, however, permitted to keep it.
Those who pick up an iPad 2 this coming Friday will have to choose between one of AT&T’s two data plans for the device if they want 3G service. Currently AT&T offers a 250MB monthly plan for $14.99/month, and a 2GB plan for $25/month. 250MB subscribers are automatically charged an additional $14.99 for another 250MB if they go over their original 250MB for the month. 2GB subscribers are automatically charged $10 for each additional GB of data they use.
Do any of you have an unlimited data plan currently on your iPad? Do you plan to port it over to an iPad 2 on Friday?
