Charlie Sheen Sets New World Record For Twitter

If you’ve been following the news, chances are you’ve noticed Charlie Sheen is going through…some problems. The actor definitely scored one “win” this week, earning the Guinness Book of World Records honor for “Fastest Time to reach 1 Million Followers” for his Twitter account @CharlieSheen.

Sheen joined Twitter on March 1, and was able to skyrocket to over a million followers in a mere 25 hours and 17 minutes. No one had previously held that title. Sheen also holds another award in the Guinness Book of World Records: “Highest Paid TV Actor Per Episode.” He reportedly made $1.25 million for each recorded episode of Two and a Half Men.

Guinness has one other social media award currently listed. The award, “Most Facebook Likes,” is currently held by rapper Lil Wayne. The organization issued a statement saying “Guinness World Records is excited to continue expanding the number of social media records it holds and looks forward to new records emerging from the rapidly evolving world of social media.”

What other social media World Records to you see showing up in the future?
