Who would ever thought there was a time when Steve Jobs was impressed with seeing himself on television?
Welcome to another installment of Flashback Friday (check our cool new logo to the right!). This week the above video of a young Steve Jobs preparing for his first television interview surfaced. Not quite the polished presenter we’re used to seeing, but instead someone who seems almost mesmerized by seeing himself on a television monitor in the studio.
Lets face it, there was a time when Mr. Jobs was just a college dropout who was trying to do something with computers, so the idea of working his way up to being someone on a national broadcast must have been a bit out there for him. The Jobs we know now is the product of years of being in the spotlight and tweaking his public persona. I actually find it a bit refreshing to see this fresh-faced, albeit bearded, side of him. It’s a nice little reminder that this is a human we’re dealing with, and not the cult leader that some make him out to be.
Sadly we don’t know the exact date of this footage, nor what he was appearing on TV about, but I think in a lot of ways we’re better off seeing the behind-the-scenes footage that present us with a very human Steve Jobs.
What say you? Surprised by this clip?
