Sony Ericsson Xperia Play Super Bowl Commercial

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, also known as the PlayStation Phone, made its big public debut tonight during the Super Bowl.

While the Xperia Play has been leaking out all over the place, even to the point of a full video tour being posted, but there has been very little in the way of official confirmations.  Well, I guess we can say a 60-second commercial running during he Super Bowl qualifies is a pretty large official comment.

While the ad itself is fairly creepy (come on, thumbs sewn on to an Android qualifies as pretty darn creepy), and the actual phone gets very little screen time, at least we’ve got something along the lines of a debut.  We still don’t have a release date, carrier or price, but at least we know it’s coming.

Still not sure about that Android and its thumbs … think I may have nightmares about that for a few days.

What say you?  Excited for the Xperia Play?
