Oops! Verizon Jumps The Gun, Apple Listed As a Smartphone Brand On Its Site

You know that Verizon announcement tomorrow everyone is speculating on? Maybe it’s the iPhone, maybe it isn’t. You know what would really help the public to keep guessing?

If Verizon didn’t list Apple as a manufacturer brand on its site, or iOS as an operating system for some of their devices.

True, you could say that it’s there due to the carrier selling the iPad, but those are listed under “Internet Devices”, and this listing is very clearly in the smartphone area.  In other words, someone on the Web team is in a whole lot of trouble at the moment.

If you want to look for yourself, just go to the smartphone section of the Verizon Wireless site, chose brand/os and you’ll see them unless they pull it soon.

We understand wanting to keep a secret, but it helps if everyone at the company is on board with the concept.

Thanks to the readers who sent this tip in.
