Despite all of the jokes made about 3D televisions, Samsung looks to be standing behind the technology. The company reports that 3D TV units have surpassed one million in sales across all brands, and it is surpassing the adoption rate of LED TVs at the same point in its history. Samsung controls 70 percent of the market at this time. Samsung also expects 3D to grow six fold in 2011, reaching a market of six million uits by the end of the year. The Smarter Life is the theme for Samsung this year and is built on three pillars:
- Smart Design. While containing more features and easier to use.
- Smart Experience. Delivering more features, uses and games.
- Smart Connections. Making it easier to connect all their devices together and connecting to the Internet and the Cloud.

The company is also proudly announcing the world’s thinnest Blu-ray player with a scorching three-second boot time. Considering how long we’ve seen some of these players to spin up, this is lightning fast. The model number is to be determined.
Expanding their Smarter Life theory, Samsung is launching a Smart refrigerator that will feature an eight-inch LCD screen with Wi-Fi connectivity which will work with apps, photos and even a way to leave notes for one another.
Smart Mobile Category
Samsung is remaining committed to the Android platform, and this year the first priority is going to be content. One of their first big announcements is the CBS network is joining the Media Hub this year to bring its hit television shows to their mobile devices, joing others like MTV, Universal and Warner Brothers. 1.5 million Samasung Galaxy Tab tablets across all carriers in 2010 Wi-Fi only version of the Galaxy Tab tablet will launch in the first quarter of 2011.
