Google Docs has become one of the darlings of the Web as it allows you to collaborate with people on various documents anywhere around the world in real time. It has been a real bonus to business with spread out offices, or employees that are always on the go. One of the biggest drawbacks, however, has been the lack of good mobile support for the service. Being able to edit documents has been restricted to computers, which could be a real pain if you were in an airport, on a train and so on. Luckily all of that has changed as of today.
Google has announced that you can now edit documents using any iOS device running 3.x and higher (yes, this means the iPad can do it), and on any Android device running version 2.2 Froyo or higher.
Yes, you will still need to have Internet connectivity to use these features, but by simply going to docs.google.com, and with the right operating system, you’re on your way. As a big fan of Google Docs (For some odd reason, no other TechnoBuffalo employees want to live in Missouri where I am …), this is a dream come true for me.
