It could be a bit nerve wracking to remove a popular game from the setting that made it famous, but sometimes a game must simply evolve to stay fresh, and make sure the people behind the intellectual property don’t get bored. Bored designers will make a boring game, so keeping it fresh is essential.
Luckily that looks exactly what Bioshock Infinite is out to do.
The third game in the popular Bioshock series moves the series out of the ocean and into a floating city in the sky. In these ten minutes of footage – which you assume are the first ten, but you can’t be sure – you see that things feel pretty familiar, but fresh & new all at once.
Present is the first person perspective, the odd powers, mysterious characters with glowing eyes and a city that was seemingly built on the best of intentions.
Sadly the game is not slated for release until 2012, and if this is just a taste of what is to come, color us excited.
