Flashback Friday: Clothing In The Year 2000

I’ve always loved these ‘views of the future’ type things because they are always so shockingly wrong.  Except … this one got one little odd detail right, even if the implementation wasn’t correct.

In case you’re wondering why a tech blog has a video up about clothes of the future, check out the last person they show, the man of the future.  Try not to laugh at the “candies for cuties” line … okay, go ahead, I did, but notice they say the man will be outfitted with a phone.  True, they just hung a phone on the guy’s chest, but isn’t it interesting they were already looking forward to mobile phones?

True, mobile phones have existed, at least in concept, since the time of World War II, but it was still a pretty distant concept at the time.

This is just an interesting little tidbit from this video, it’s more here for laughs than any thing because … well … doesn’t everyone want to laugh at a bridal gown made of glass?
