Developed in relative secrecy, Blood Stone : 007 is a new James Bond game that had been rumored for the past few months, but didn’t get an official announcement until the middle of July. The game has taken on a bit more importance as of late since the 23rd Bond film has been put on indefinite hold due to the financial problems of the MGM film studio which has been responsible for the series.
The new Bond game has heavy connections to the traditional film series, which is going to be great with the afore mentioned uncertainty of the next film. James Bond will be voiced by Daniel Craig who currently portrays the character in the films, and he will be joined by Dame Judi Dench in the role of “M”, Bond’s boss at MI6. And, of course, there has to be a “Bond Girl”, and that will be singer Joss Stone (pictured in character as Nicole Hunter to the right) who is also doing double duty singing the theme song, “I’ll Take It All”.
Capping off the connections to the Bond films is the story being by Bruce Feirstein who was involved in scripting GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies and The World Is Not Enough. Sadly, fans pretty much agree those last two were pretty weak on the story front, but hopefully it will go better as a game.
While the credit sequence posted above looks great, the graphics of actual game play make Daniel Craig seem a bit plastic looking, but hopefully when you’re playing it won’t be quite as noticeable.
The game will be out this holiday season and be available on PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
What say you? Excited for a new Bond game?
