Earlier this year, Google revealed their plan to close the Nexus One online store found at Google.com/phone after admitting customers wanted some hands-on with a device before they fork over the cash. The news came late last week that Google received its last shipment of Nexus One phones and once they’re gone, they’re gone.
Although not given the same axe as the Motorola Droid last week, some retailers around the world will still sell the handset. As Google says, it’ll still be available from carrier partners like Vodafone in Europe, KT in Korea, and other potential retailers depending on local market conditions. If you’re looking to get your hands on the recent Google Phone, you better act quick before they sell out.
Is Google opening up their online store to sell a range of devices or is this the end to Google.com/phone? Only time will tell but the world looks forward to a Nexus Two…you know, the one with the physical keyboard? Does the Nexus One still stand up against the EVO, Droid X, and Incredible?
