A Nearly Self-Aware Segway

by Travis Harvey | July 15, 2010July 15, 2010 3:47 pm PDT

The guys over at TechCrunch have a hilarious interview with a robotics engineer behind Anybots, a startup that created this remote controlled Segway look-a-like.  Controlled through a Firefox plugin that logs you into any authorized Anybot you’ve setup.  These things breeze around at 3.5 mph with an attached camera and lazer point for a solid six to eight hours before needing to be recharged.  Don’t get too excited because, like the Segway itself, the price isn’t for the faint of heart.  Picking up the standard QB model will set you back a hefty $15,000 when they become available this fall.  Check out TechCrunch’s interview here.
