An Infographic: Twitter’s Meteoric Rise

There are a lot of bad things you can say about Twitter, not the least of which is how are we still getting the Fail Whale popping up after four years, but you certainly can’t say it hasn’t grown at a stunning pace.

Starting in late 2008 the service started growing at a stunning rate, and although it currently only has about a fifth of the users Facebook has, the engagement seems much higher as you have to actually use the service regularly to get the most out of it.  This graphic history of the service from The Blog Herald shows just how quickly the site has grown, as well  as where and how it has gained so much momentum.
