What seems like a monthly occurrence, another Hulu subscription rumor has popped up suggesting the launch for such a venture could come as early as next week. Originally destined to debut on the iPad months ago, another pre-E3 report dove into the Xbox 360 realm but never came about. Two sources point to a nearing launch, both suggesting next week as a likely possibility.
The first report comes from AllThingsD backs up previous rumors of a $9.95 per month fee to gain access to archives beyond the current 5 recent episode limit. This same source says negotiations are still under way for NBC, ABC, and Fox so another delay isn’t completely out of the question.
A Bloomberg report published on Thursday tells of a near-final agreement to allow Sony’s Playstation 3 access to Hulu’s extended catalog for the same $9.95 monthly fee. In addition, Bloomberg reports CBS, Viacom, and Time Warner are all in negotiations to add their television shows to the Hulu catalog. There’s still been no further development in the Reuters report that the Xbox 360 would be adding something similar, if not the same.
Would you pay $10 per month to gain access to Hulu’s backlog of episodes? Will it make it to the PS3 or Xbox 360 first? Place your bets below.
