Apple launched their new MobileMe web interface on Friday morning which has received a major design overhaul.  The largest of the changes were made on the very sluggish mail interface.

The new Mail features as detailed by Apple includes:

  • Widescreen and compact views.
  • Rules to keep your email organized everywhere.
  • Single-click archiving.
  • Formatting toolbar.
  • Faster performance.
  • Increased security with SSL.
  • Support for external email addresses.
  • Improved junk mail filtering.

The Calendar, Address Book, iDisk and Photo Gallery web applications also received new interfaces that make them very clean and easy to use.

The web app toolbar has been changed with a single button that activates a switcher to allow users to select their specific MobileMe service.

Apple also updated the Find My iPhone web application with a full page Google Maps view to go along with the new Find My iPhone application for the iPhone.  It is now available in the App Store and makes finding your iPhone that much easier.

The iPhone app is universal between iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices and offers just another method to track down a lost device.  It provides quicker access to the Find My iPhone functions including sending remote messages, remote locking or wiping the device(s).

Users can check out the enhancements if they are a MobileMe subscriber or you can purchase it from Apple for $99 USD per year.  If you purchase it with a Mac, iPhone or iPad, you will receive a $30 discount.
