TechCrunch reports that the new Digg has been under construction for over a year, geared to capture publishers looking to virally spread their content beyond Twitter. From the video, it looks like the new Digg will put a strong emphasis on friends, very similar to Twitter. The new “My News” section seems to follow Twitter model of following and sharing content while the “Top News” remains true to Digg’s current form. Submitting a new Digg story will now only require a URL, as if Digg’s hoping to get the whole internet to join their ranks. Do you use Digg.com to share and find stories?
