WiFi iPad Lacks GPS, Yet it Knows Your Location

Wait a sec…doesn’t the WiFi-only iPad lack GPS? According to Apple’s website, that is true, and yet if you fire up Google Maps on the iPad, the device will find your location within about 100 yards. While that’s not as good as GPS, it’s darn close. How is this happening? You can actually pinpoint your location with WiFi, and that’s what the iPad does. Neat!
