Recognizr Augments Your Web Life

There are some incredibly cool augmented reality applications that are already available for both Android and iPhone.  Yelp’s monocle feature displays nearby restaurants and ratings and  New York Subway displays nearby subway lines atop the camera layer using the compass, accelerometer, and GPS.  Recognizr follows suit, allowing users to snap a photo of themselves and tagging links to their social networks and contact information.  Once in the database, anyone using the app can pull up all your information just by capturing your ugly mug with their camera lens.  It might not be quite as high on the awe factor as Penguin’s constellation app but if the app becomes widely adopted, it could make for some interesting contact swapping.
