Apple on Tuesday unveiled completely redesigned iPad Pro models. It’s a big change from the last generation iPad Pro, signaling a new direction for Apple’s high-end tablet. With that in mind, let’s take a look at how the new 11-inch iPad Pro compares with the last generation 10.5-inch iPad Pro.
With the new iPad Pro, Apple completely designed it from the ground up. Gone is the rounded finish Apple introduced with the iPad Air and in its place is a flat finish. But the most jarring change was made to the display, which saw its bezels severely minimized, paving the way for Face ID and gesture-based controls.
Unlike the bigger iPad Pro model that stayed at the same 12.9-inch screen size, the smaller iPad Pro saw a bump up to 11-inches. It’s a slight jump, but with the tweaked design, it’s a smaller footprint with a bigger display.
The big changes didn’t stop there. Apple also introduced a powerful A12X Bionic chip, second generation Apple Pencil support and up to 1TB of storage.
Interestingly enough, Apple is keeping the old 10.5-inch iPad Pro in its iPad Pro lineup for the time being, which makes this comparison that much more important. It’s not like the last generation 10.5-inch iPad Pro is a bad purchase at $649. It still comes with a Retina Display, A10X Fusion chip, Touch ID and support for the Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil.
Check out the spec comparison down below between the new 11-inch iPad Pro and 10.5-inch iPad Pro to see everything that’s changed.
Please note the new iPad does not show 1TB as an option. We are working on a fix.
