BuffaloBuzz 12 : Get FCC’d

This week we have:
  • The latest updates in the on-going saga with the 27-inch iMac models regarding display flickering and yellow tinting.  Apple and AppleCare may be able to help you out with that.
  • Another round of Nexus One rumors describe that a recently “FCC’d” CDMA device may be launching on Verizon’s network.
  • The massive 8.8-magnitude earthquake that struck Chile early Saturday, including Hawaii, came under tsunami watch.  One of the rare times we were informed well ahead of time, the national and international media took the opportunity to catch it all on film.  Is it an invasion of privacy to see peoples’ lives change and wash away at a click of a button and at the comfort of your own home?  Leave us your thoughts.

BuffaloBuzz 9 : Colbert Promotes iPad!

3) The popular Google smartphone, Nexus One, currently available on T-Mobile USA maybe available on AT&T, Verizon and Sprint soon.
4) Facebook wants to steal your email with vanity emails similar to the available vanity URL’s.  Users will be available to send email via an “@facebook.com” email similar to Gmail or Yahoo Mail.
5) Stephen Colbert tries to promote the iPad by pulling out an iPad to announce the nominee list for Song of the Year.

Thanks, Citytv and Breakfast Television

Citytv’s Breakfast Television featured my YouTube channel on Friday, January 22nd during their Internet Stars week.

A few weeks back, I was asked to write a blurb about myself and what I do on YouTube, and they passed it onto the Segment Producers of the production.  I never expected that I was going to be featured, but just that I was being considered.  As well, I thought that I would be contacted before being put on TV.  This however, was not the case.

I  was woken up by friends and family calling as well as Twitter and Facebook alerts on my iPhone and upon turning on my TV, I learned that I missed it.  Luckily it was featured online so I could see it after school, but no worries, I was greeted at school with it playing on the big monitors.  Now, everyone knows about my online endeavours.  Funny way of finding out but it opt to happen someday.

Special thanks to Kevin Frankish, Dina Pugliese and the rest of the Breakfast Television team for featuring me on the show and here’s to the show’s future (and my career, if that’s not too selfish!)

Attached is my video thanking the BT team and showing those who have not seen it, the feature.

Google Voice’s Comeback to the iPhone

Apple pulled a third-party iPhone app for Google Voice last summer which caused an FCC investigation into Apple’s reasonings.

Apple’s tough skin is not going to stop VoiceCentral and others from creating an alternative to the application to bring Google Voice back to the iPhone.  They call it “Black Swan” and the application is completely browser based but retains the look and feel of a regular app.  You can sign up for a private beta invitation here.

Google makes a call to your phone while calling the other party allowing you use the phone functionality of the service as well as read voicemail, SMS and more.  You can access your Google contacts, however, you can’t access your iPhone contact directory from the browser application which is a downside.  As well, audio plays through the speaker instead of the earpiece, but to resolve that, simply throw in a pair of headphones.

VoiceCentral will most likely be a paid application in the App Store.

Attached is the promotional video of the product.

BuffaloBuzz has signed up for an invite and will bring you the latest updates.

Bloopers 2009 : Uncensored

Yes, I will admit, I’m not perfect.  The process of making one BuffaloBuzz episode can take up to a week to make from researching, to script writing, to filming many takes, to editing, to publishing.  Through those steps, there are a few bumps along the road.  You typically don’t see them, but here’s some of my trip-ups through the journey.

Thanks for an awesome few months aboard the TechnoBuffalo Train everyone, cheers for 2009 and here’s for a great 2010 with the BuffaloBuzz!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Warning: There is some coarse language in the video which some may find offensive.  Viewer Discretion is advised.
