The Lumia 520 was announced Monday morning during Mobile World Congress in Spain. A version of it, the Lumia 521, will launch on T-Mobile later this year, but we had a chance to check out the device today. It’s relatively low-end but is super compact and we dig the various color options, which Nokia has continued to fill its Windows Phone portfolio with. The phone itself offers 512MB of RAM, 8GB of expandable storage, a 5-megapixle camera and more. Oddly, it didn’t seem to have a front-facing camera, but we imagine that’s in an effort to keep costs down and compete in emerging markets with Android-powered devices.

Out of the two new devices, we prefer the Lumia 720, but the 520 is a compelling enough device that will likely do well at a low price point.
