The LG Optimus F5 was announced a few days back, and it’s the entry-level model of LG’s new F-Series of devices. Its specs fall under those of the more powerful F7, but it’s still a relatively attractive phone.
The Optimus F5 is equipped with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, slower than the 1.5GHz chip in the F7, 8GB of storage, a microSD card slot, 1GB of RAM and a smaller 4.3-inch display. It also packs a 5-megapixel camera instead of an 8-megapixel shooter, and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video chat.
We enjoyed the Optimus F5 and imagine it will launch somewhere in the sub-$100 price range if it hits the U.S. market. Right now it’s set to launch in Europe during the second quarter.
