Lenovo unveiled the ThinkPad Tablet 2 Windows 8 tablet earlier this month, but I just had a chance to play around with one briefly during the IFA trade show in Berlin. Oh man, I want it so badly. It packs all of the power of a PC into a super slim 10.1-inch tablet. Need to hook up a monitor or mouse? No problem, use the device’s HDMI and USB ports and you’re good to go. Ready for the commute home? Unplug it all and continue working using the device’s touchscreen and digitizer pen.
Since it runs Windows 8 Pro, instead of Windows RT, it’s also capable of running full x86 applications. I seriously wish I had one right now in my hotel room so that I could play StarCraft II with the folks in our Irvine office and then toss the tablet in my bag and head back to the show floor.
I also noticed an AT&T application on the device, which suggests it may launch there this fall when Windows 8 makes its official debut. Check out our gallery and full video for a bit more information.
