We swung by Huawei’s booth during IFA in Berlin to quickly check out several of its new products, among them is the flagship Huawei Ascend D1 Quad XL. It packs 8GB of storage, 1GB of RAM, a 1.4GHz quad-core processor, support for 32GB microSD cards, Bluetooth 3.0, an 8-megapixel camera capable of recording HD video, a 1.3-megapixel front facing camera for video chats and a large 2,600mAh battery.
We weren’t overly impressed with the Ascend D1 Quad XL, despite its beefy specs. The phone runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which is odd for any flagship these days, and it didn’t impress us as much as the Galaxy S III or Galaxy Note II has. We did like its large 4.5-inch 1280 x 720-pixel display, however, and it was really bright even under the show floor lights. Be sure to check out our gallery and video for more information.
