HTC just announced its brand new flagship Windows Phone 8 device, the Windows Phone 8X. It’s incredible. I want one (the lime green one) now. I recently spent a while checking out the phone and, while Microsoft won’t let us talk about all of the Windows Phone 8 features yet, it’s one of my favorite smartphones to launch so far this year.
The Windows Phone 8X is equipped with a 4.3-inch 1280 x 720-pixel HD display, a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, NFC, 16GB of storage, 1GB of RAM, a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera with HD video support, an 8-megapixel camera with HTC’s ImageChip for quick photo snapping, as well as 1080p HD video recording support, NFC, LTE support and an enhanced 3.5mm headphone jack to pump up the Beats Audio.
HTC will launch the phone in a variety of colors and, for the sake of brevity, there will be a neon red color, a neon green/yellow model, an awesome blue flagship color and a black model. All look incredible and feature a super smooth industrial design. HTC totally tweaked the build, too, so that the large 1,800mAh battery actually sits on top of the display inside.
HTC didn’t announce which carriers will get the devices just yet, or how much it will cost, but you can bet we’ll know that information in the coming weeks. For now, enjoy the gallery and video.
