Asus announced the Transformer Pad TF701T, a solid new tablet-laptop hybrid at IFA. We had a chance to get our hands on the new Transformer Pad and it’s even better than before. The new computer is will cost $399 or $499 if you want the mobile dock, and is expected to launch later this month, though Asus didn’t offer a specific release date.

The Transformer Pad TF701T comes equipped with a 10.1-inch 2560 x 1600 WQXGA touch-screen coming in a 300ppi, NVIDIA’s quad-core Tegra 4 processor, 2GB of RAM and either 32GB or 64GB of storage. That’s the same processor in NVIDIA’s Shield gaming device, too, so we should expect some serious gaming performance from this tablet.
