How to Get Your Computer to Announce The Time

One of the things you need to become the ULTIMATE geek is to get your man to say out the time in 15 min intervals.  Some may think that this takes a application to do, but actually it is all ready a feature in the Mac OS X. In about 3 easy steps you will have all your friends eveying you with your amazing talking computer!

Step one:

Open up System Preferences by either clicking on the icon or going to “” “System Preferences”

Step Two:

When in System Prefs. Locate the “Date and Time” in the System Pane

Step Three: Go to the bottom of Date and Time and customize the way your computer will announce the time, you can select how often it will be announced, either very 15 min, 30 min, or 60 min.  You can also customize the voice that will be telling you the time, there are plenty of unique voices to choose from each gender.

Now your done!  And you can enjoy a mono-toned voice announce the time to you every 25 min! I have mine set to every 15 min so I can hear good old  Zarvox’s voice all the time!

*Note: This feature may result in lose of friends, girlfriends, respect from family, and general embarrassment :P
