Sprint Rolling Out First 4G LTE Coverage by Mid 2012

Sprint Twitter LTE AnnouncementNot to be outdone be AT&T’s earlier network announcement, Sprint has revealed via its Twitter feed the first cities to be blessed with the Now Network’s 4G LTE treatment. The carrier will flip the switch in Atlanta, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio by mid 2012 – no specific month or date has been given as of yet. That’s a lot of southern love, Sprint. Hopefully the carrier will roll out coverage to more of the U.S. shortly after.

With AT&T now covering 26 cities across the U.S. with its LTE, and Verizon expanding everyday, Sprint has a bit of catching up to do in the next-gen speed market. With CES 2012 just around the bend, perhaps we’ll see some tasty LTE phones announced to run on Sprint’s impending network upgrade.

What city would you like to see Sprint announce LTE coverage for?
