Twitter Acquires Posterous

Posterous has just confirmed on its blog post that it has been acquired by Twitter. Posterous is a blogging platform that allows anyone to publish content to a personal page. “The opportunities in front of Twitter are exciting, and we couldn’t be happier about bringing our team’s expertise to a product that reaches hundreds of millions of users around the globe,” Posterous’ Sachin Agarwal said in a blog post. “Plus, the people at Twitter are genuinely nice folks who share our vision for making sharing simples.” The company confirmed that existing Posterous pages will still exist without interruption and that it will provide “ample notice” if there are any changes made. It also said it has provided instructions for users who might want to consider moving to another blogging platform. Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
