The History of Portable Music (Infographic)

Portable music started in 1954 with the Regency TR-1 transistor radio. Now a little less than 50 years later we’re toting around mobile phones and MP3 players in our pockets that can hold enough music to play continuously for weeks.

So what did music look like between then and now? TechKing created this infographic showing the progression of portable music through the years, starting with the good old TR-1 and ending on the fancy walkmans of today.
