Sprint has lowered the price of its 3G/4G data plans. Now customers have the option of purchasing a 6GB 3G/4G data plan for $49.99, or a 12GB 3G/4G plan for $79.99. Both Verizon and AT&T offer 5GB plans for $50, making it so you gain an extra GB of data for the same price if you choose Sprint.

The $49.99/6GB and $79.99/12GB plans are both compatible with all Mobile Broadband devices sold by Sprint, including tablets, dedicated mobile hotspot devices, USB modems, netbooks and notebooks.

The company also added two new mobile hotspot plans: one $34.99/mo plan for 3GB of 3G/4G data usage, and a $19.99/mo plan for 1GB of 3G/4G data usage.

Verizon is currently running a promotional deal where 4G customers get double the amount of data they might traditionally receive for the same price. So, currently the $50 5GB plan is actually a $50 10GB plan, making it better than Sprint’s offering. Verizon’s deal, however, is only for 4G data and is only available for a limited time only. The new lower data prices on Sprint are its new “normal” prices.
