The UI and design of the Palm App Catalog (Found on the Pre & Pixi) have tremendous potential.  It is easy to navigate, simple to use, and overall and enjoyable experience.  However (you knew there was going to be a but) it is really lacking developer support.  In time, I think WebOS poses the best competition to challenge the iPhone, but until ‘There’s an app for that’ on the Pre or Pixi, it’s going to be relegated to second fiddle, which really is a shame.
