Teen Girls are Sending 4K Texts a Month, World Not Shocked
From the “this survey reported the obvious” department comes the shocking news that teen girls are sending close to 4,000 text messages a month. Is it just me, or is anyone else frightened by how strong their thumbs must be getting?
A new study from Nielsen shows that texting and data usage are surging amongst teens with the average teenager sending 3,417 texts per month. However, when they broke that number down by gender it came out to 3,952 for girls and 2,815 for boys.

What is a tad surprising is just how fast our data consumption is growing. Nielsen showed growth in every age demographic, with teens showing the biggest jump over the previous year even though they aren’t using the most per month.

It seems clear that mobile phones are becoming a bigger part of our life by the day, and seeing the growth in one year really makes you wonder where we’ll be by this time in 2012.
Have you noticed an increase in how much you use your phone for things other than calls?
