Motorola Fire to Hit U.K. Next Month
The Motorola Fire looks like a nice, wallet-friendly Android alternative to RIM’s QWERTY keyboard-boasting BlackBerry. It was finally made official today by Motorola, along with promises that us Brits will see device in stores by late September.
But before you get all excited, there’s also some bad news to break. You may have already spotted the device on the website of U.K. retailer Clove.co.uk, which listed the handset’s specifications, and a rather accurate September release date. Included with those specs was a 1GHz processor, but the Fire isn’t going to be quite as quick. Instead, it will only feature a 600HMz CPU.
Don’t be too downhearted, though — Motorola says it will still boast “color, fun and functionality.” Yay!
In addition to that 600MHz processor, the Fire will pack Android 2.3 Gingerbread and a 2.8-inch display:

For those who are a fan of the BlackBerry-style QWERTY keyboard, but can’t quite afford the BlackBerry price tags, the Motorola Fire could be a great alternative. Clove.co.uk current has the SIM-free device priced up at £216 (approx. $357), but that price is to be confirmed. There’s also no word on the device’s U.S. release just yet.
