Streaming Killed The Video Star? (Infographic)

TechnoBuffalo is one example of the popularity of streaming video. You obviously love watching our videos, and according to a new Nielsen Cross-Platform report our videos are far from the only one’s people have started watching on the interwebs.

The report showed that even the lightest TV watchers have stepped up their streaming video watching in 2011. Not surprising, the younger you are – in general, the more streaming video you tend to watch. 18-24 year olds make up the bulk of the people who are streaming video online, while 50-64 year olds make up the bulk (25%) of traditional TV watchers.

Women also account for a huge amount of traditional television viewers, while more men tend to turn to the web for television viewing.

The whole study is pretty interesting, and shows how video in general is trending toward the web rather than traditional television. The folks at Wistia published this great infogrpahic with all the details in visual form.

What do you think the future of traditional television is?
