Sony Tablet S Coming In September, Tablet P Later This Year

Sony’s long-awaited Tablet S is headed to stores this September. The company officially announced the tablet this morning at IFA, and will be opening up pre-orders for the tablet later today.

Sony will be offering both a 16GB and 32GB model, with the 16GB priced at $499.99, and the 32GB $100 higher at $599.99.

The Tablet S is expected to has a 9.4” 1280×800 capacitive touchscreen, and will be powered a NVIDIA dual-core Tegra 2 processor paired with 1GB of RAM. The tablet will come running a Sony-customized version of Honeycomb, and has a full-sized SD card reader and microUSB connection for getting all you data on and off the device. The tablet also has a .03-megapixel forward-facing camera for making video calls, and a 5-megapixel rear-facing cam for taking photos while you’re on the go.

Sony also got official with the Tablet P this morning. The company didn’t provide very man details about the device, except that it would be launching only a 3G model (not a wifi one) later this year in the US. The 3G version is expected to head to AT&T.
