Motorola on Thursday officially sent out invites for a press event that it’s hosting in Chicago on Sept. 4.

While Motorola has introduced several new phones since it launched the Moto X last year, we’re overdue for an upgrade. Most rumors have pointed toward a device dubbed the “Moto X+1,” which we expect to make its debut during the press event. TechnoBuffalo will be covering the event live from two of those locations, Berlin where we’ll be on the ground for IFA, and New York.

It’s the best time of the year to buy gadgets, which usually go on sale right around that time, and you’ll finally be off of your summer job. Plus, if you’re heading back to the college campus, you’ll be away from the old ‘rents for a few months again. Ah, sweet freedom.
