Starbucks Offers Free Wi-Fi to Caffeine Addicts in U.K.

Starbucks Free Wi-Fi UK

Having rolled out free Wi-Fi for visitors to its coffee shops in the U.S. last year, Starbucks is now delivering free internet access to caffeine addicts in the U.K. The company has announced via its Twitter page that from today, free Wi-Fi is available at “hundreds” of Starbucks locations throughout the U.K.

“From today, all our customers can access Free Wi-Fi at hundreds of Starbucks locations throughout the UK. Just click ‘Connect’ and enjoy!”

Previously, coffee drinkers in the U.K. needed a Starbucks card to enjoy Wi-Fi access in the company’s cafés, but now anyone can use it for free while they’re guzzling away on their latte. It isn’t quite available nationwide just yet, however, the roll-out is expected to continue to all stores.

For those of you who are wondering about the benefits of those Starbucks content partnerships, there’s currently no word on these in the U.K. just yet. In the U.S., Starbucks Wi-Fi gives users free access to content that is usually chargeable or paywalled, such as that from iTunes, The New York Times, Patch, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, and Yahoo!.

Even without those things, however, it’s great to hear that Starbucks finally has free Wi-Fi. Other big coffee chains here in the U.K., such as Caffé Nero, have already been offering free internet access to customers for some time.

Are you pleased to hear Starbucks now has free Wi-Fi?
