Obama Holding First Twitter Town Hall Today

President Obama is holding a town hall meeting today on Twitter, answering questions about the economy and jobs live on the site. You can submit your questions now on Twitter using the hashtag #AskObama, then tune in to Twitter’s townhall site at 2pm EST for a webcast of the president answering questions live.

As the political season starts to heat up, many politicians are turning to Twitter. Republican candidates for president will be debating on Twitter on July 20th, using 140TownHall.com. The president’s townhall today, however, will mark the first time Twitter proper has been involved in setting up a political discussion online.

What do you think about politicians using Twitter as a way to connect with citizens/voters? Is it a good idea? Anyone planning on participating in the townhall today?
