Facebook Launching “Something Awesome” Next Week

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg says the company will be launching ”something awesome” next week. The project has been developed by a 40-person team at the Facebook offices in Seattle, the only offices the company has outside of its headquarters in Palo Alto.

While Zuckerberg declined to comment on what the awesome announcement might be, many have speculated that it will be the long-awaited iPad app for the service. The announcement might also be the photo sharing application we saw leaked mid-June. The stand-alone application would be a mix of Instagram and Color, allowing pictures to be shared with others instantly.
