User Blog Feature: Fake Core i7 CPUs Sold by Newegg
Newegg, one of the largest technology vendors online, received some unwanted attention over the weekend as it surfaced that a batch of fake Intel Core i7 chipsets arrived on the doorstep of some not so happy customers. TechnoBuffalo user Weeman has all the details so be sure to swing by his blog for a laugh at Newegg’s expense.
“Well some people that purchased one of the top of the line processors may have gotten a fake it seems. Many people are reporting that they received fake CPUs that were ordered from Newegg. One of their long time partners, D&H Distributing, got ahold of 300 fakes in a batch of 2,000 that were then sold to Newegg.”
