NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 3D Mobile Processors Ship This Spring

Nvidia will be shipping the World’s First Tegra 2 mobile 3D processors this year, according to a leaked image of NVIDIA’s Mobile World Congress presentation acquired by TechEYE. According to the slide, the first 3D processors by Nvidia will be clocked at 1.2GHz, and based on a Dual Cortex A9. The first shipment of the processors would be expected to go out in the Spring of this year.

3D was a huge theme of CES this year, and found its way into a variety of different devices ranging from smartphones to big screen televisions. There is definitely a marketplace for 3D processors now, and NVIDIA is a great contender to start bringing more of those to the marketplace, especially on the mobile front.

A mobile 3D processor would be used, obviously, in mobile phones. 3D was huge at CES this year, popping up in everything from digital cameras to big screen televisions. A decent 3D mobile processor would pave the way fo 3D mobile phones to start hitting the marketplace in mass as well.

How do you feel about the whole 3D thing? Would you use 3D capabilities in your phone to take 3D photos or view 3D movies, even if it meant wearing glasses to do so? I tried out a lot of the 3D stuff at CES, and I have to say I wasn’t too impressed with the technology. Do you see it as something you would use if you had it?
