World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Releases On Dec. 7th
We hate to tell you parents, but when your kids come home from college for their winter break this year, don’t expect to be seeing a whole lot of them. No, they won’t be catching up with their friends, or seeing their girlfriend who is also home on break, instead they will be locked up with a computer playing the latest expansion to the highly addictive World of Warcraft, Cataclysm.
Blizzard, the company behind the insanely popular game, announced the release date for the next expansion today. So, everyone mark your calendars for Dec. 7th, and expect a whole lot of people to be calling in sick to work when that happens.
The new expansion will be sold either as a download or in retail stores for $40. There will also be a collector’s edition available for $80 which will include:
- The game
- Art of the Cataclysm art book, which clocks in at 176 pages
- Lil’ Deathwing exclusive in-game pet
- Behind-the-scenes DVD
- Soundtrack CD with 17 instrumental tracks from the game
- Special-edition mouse pad depicting Deathwing menacing the ravaged continents of Azeroth
If you’re deeply into the game, it sounds like the collector’s edition may be a must have item for you this holiday season.
