Minecraft 1.8′s Newest Mobs Teased
Minecraft 1.8 will feature, among a ton of other additions, new mobs. The Adventure Update, as it’s now being called, is looking to be the creepiest, weirdest and most epic update fans have seen in a long time. Markus “Notch” Persson posted the screenshot you see above to his Google+ profile yesterday. The line with the picture read, “The new mob I’ve been working on is a bit creepy..”
The image next to the headline for this post on the index page was actually a lightened up version of what Notch posted to Google+. That handiwork was done by Reddit user 8bitflu. Here it is for a clearer visualization of the new baddies.
Immediately, comparisons are being drawn between these new mobs and the Slender Man myth that dates back to creation on Something Awful. One Reddit user made a nod to this by saying “Slender man…?” in the post for the shot on Reddit, Notch read it and responded as such: “That’s it, I’m officially naming them ‘Endermen’ as a (subtle) reference to this.”
Judging by the image alone, it looks like these creepy mobs will work in packs to either build or dismantle areas. Imagine stumbling on a pack of these weirdos as they’re tearing down a mountain or your home. Yikes.
