Minecraft 1.0 Officially Released at MineCon

Markus “Notch” Persson took to the stage today in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center for the inaugural MineCon event to officially remove the “beta” label from his popular Minecraft game.

The sold out event of nearly 5,000 dedicated Minecraft players warmly welcomed Notch as he took to the stage to throw the lever, officially releasing Minecraft 1.0.

And your clients should already be receiving the update notice.

Be sure to check out the TechnoBuffalo Minecraft server!  Do remember, until the server is updated, 1.0 clients won’t be able to get in, so keep your 1.8 .jar file handy!
