Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Premiere Gameplay Trailer

The video above sports right around two minutes of gameplay footage for Ubisoft’s next entry in the Ghost Recon brand, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.

Future Soldier has seen all sorts of delays and re-schedulings since its initial announcement. The game was first targeted to release between 2009 and 2010, then 2010 and 2011, then of 2011 and 2012 and now, well, it’s set for May 22nd, 2012. It’s been shown at press conferences, especially as a “Better With Kinect” highlight during Microsoft’s show at E3, but media and assets outside of those have been slim.

Now, it appears the game is well on its way to coming out. GRAW and GRAW 2 were the first Ghost Recon games to release during this console generation, with GRAW 2 dropping in (yes, it’s really been that long) 2007. Future Soldier hopefully marks Ubisoft’s glorious return to consoles.

Are you a fan of the Ghost Recon franchise? What with the recent shooter popularity being set in Call of Duty‘s more acarde-esque stylings, do you think a more realistic take on stealth and tactics will be as appealing today as it was five years ago?

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will launch for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on May 22nd, 2012 in North America.
