First Assassin’s Creed: Revelations DLC Announced & Dated

Yes, already.

Ubisoft released Assassin’s Creed: Revelations for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms yesterday. The publisher decided to follow this software’s release with official news of the game’s first round of post-launch DLC.

“The Ancestors Character Pack” is a rather small batch of downloadable content, but it comes at a reasonable price. From the official press release sent out by Ubisoft, here’s what you’ll be able to snag when this content launches:

“The first new downloadable content features four new multiplayer characters: the swashbuckling Privateer, the devious siren Corsair, the battle-tested Brigand and the bloodthirsty Gladiator. Each character is personalized with unique taunts, weapons and stylized assassination moves.”

The content will go on sale on December 13 and will move for $3.99 on the PlayStation Network and 320 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE. The PC version of Assassin’s Creed: Revelations will launch no November 29, but no word has been given regarding pricing and availability of this DLC for that platform.

While multiplayer character skins are always nice, I personally like DLC of a more campaign oriented focus. I’d love to take Ezio, Altair or Desmond even further away from Constantinople on a noble quest set apart from the main story. DLC is a perfect way for that to happen.

We’ll have more on Assassin’s Creed as it comes.
