Borderlands 2 Gets Its First Official Teaser Trailer

The Game Informer exclusive cover reveal of Borderlands 2 was a still version of the teaser trailer you’ll see above. They both feature the same new character (Salvador the dwarf), a snowbound landscape, dual-wielding weaponry and the incredible art style that drew so many to the original Borderlands.

The trailer, of course, adds motion. But fans will also see one lone dwarf spend less than 30 seconds ruining skags and mechs between worlds of snow and grass. Salvador is a member of the Gunzerker class, and, as of now, he’s the only character in Borderlands 2 capable of wielding two guns.

As Gearbox proved they are capable of delivering balanced, class-based gameplay with the first Borderlands, we assume going Rambo with two massive rifles will have its downfalls. You know, stuff like slower movement, less accuracy, less capacity for ammo, etc. We’re guessing, obviously, but we can’t wait to go all kinds of crazy on the enemies of Pandora with this new, manly dwarf dude.

Borderlands 2 is slated to release from 2K Games and Gearbox software for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC platforms sometime during the course of Take-Two’s 2013 fiscal year. As previously clarified by an official press release from the company, that means fans can expect this sequel sometime after April of 2012.
