Google Maps 6.7 for Android Introduces Indoor Walking Directions

Google Maps indoor directionsWhether you’re willing to admit it or not, we’ve all gotten lost in a mall or department store at one point or another. Google’s latest update to Maps for Android is making sure that never happens again with indoor walking directions (U.S. and Japan only). I have a pretty terrible sense of direction, so I’m definitely the target demographic. Currently, indoor walking directions is only offered for select businesses and venues, with more sure to be on the way. Google previously launched indoor maps last November, allowing business owners to add floor plans for easier customer navigation — this is the evolution of that. In addition to indoor directions, Google is introducing Offers, which shows nearby deals. Simply tap on Maps and then Offers, and a menu will display deals that can either be purchased or scooped up for free, depending what it is.
