Samsung Epic 4G Getting Updated to Gingerbread this Month

Samsung EpicThe Android Gingerbread update is slowly creeping its away across all of the carriers, and next up appears to be the Samsung Epic 4G on Sprint.

According to a source speaking with Sprintfeed, the popular Samsung handset will be getting the update before the end of the month, with July 24th being the likely target date for the release.  It appears that the delay in the update may have been caused by trying to get Samsung’s UI TouchWiz to work properly, and that doesn’t come as too large of a surprise as not much else could have slowed it up.

While the date is not yet official, it does appear that the update is coming this month, and it’s about time.  Seeing as the Samsung Epic 4G came in as our second favorite on our list of the Top 5 Sprint Phones, it’s set to only get better with the update to Gingerbread.

Are you excited for the Gingerbread update for the Epic?
